Fayette Baseball Explodes Offensively

Front Royal, Virginia - Fayette beats Christendom's despiting their rally attempt!

In the first game of the double header the Nittany Lions came out of the gate grabbing three runs early on. In the third inning Andrew Despot was able to score due to a wild pitch and senior Kyle Ridley helped bring two of his teammates home. Christendom would get themselves on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning. Fayette would try and pull away in the 7th inning where they would grab four runs. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Kaleb Shultz, Connor Vig, and Cade Warrick. In the bottom of the 7th inning the Crusaders would attempt to rally but it would be shut down thanks to solid infield play. Fayette wins a close one 8-5, looks to keep the pace for the second game.

Noah Mathew's would be the winning pitcher for the game where he gave up just five hits and had four strike outs. The Nittany Lions tallied 13 total hits, with Sawyer D'Andrea, Connor Vig, Cade Warrick, and Kyle Ridley logging multiple hits. D'Andrea led the team going 3-4 at the plate.


The Nittany Lions offense goes nuclear in the second game!

The Nittany Lions entered the second game scorching hot and kept their momentum from the final inning of the first game. After bases got loaded quickly in the first inning, Ethan Rendulic wouldn't back down from the opportunity to bring his teammates home. Ethan cracked the ball to far right field to record the seasons first grand slam and get his team up early. Christendom would reclaim the lead in the second inning with three runs from Sulivan, Roman, and Skuba, but it would be all Fayette in the rest of this one. At the top of the 3rd inning the Nittany Lions would tally six runs, followed by five runs in the 4th inning. The Nittany Lions cruze to a 15-5 victory over the Christendom Crusaders.

Ethan Redulic was the hero of the day with a grand slam in the 1st inning. Andrew Despot and Ethan Rendulic recorded two hits, leading the team. Overall the team did good work at the plate collecting nine hits and scoring 15 runs. Ridley, Rendulic, Burns, Iannou, and Vig would record multiple runs scored. Braeden McKnight pitched all five innings giving up seven hits but just five runs as well as 3 strikeouts. 

The Nittany Lions look to keep this momentum for March 21st, where they'll play CCAC at home at 4:30 P.M.
