Fayette Baseball Can't Contain Central Penn

Summerdale, Pennsylvania - The Nittany Lions fell behind early and couldn't get their footing in a comeback attempt. Penn grabbed three runs in the first inning and one in the second. Fayette remained quiet until the 4th inning where they scored three runs. Central Penn would bring in six more runs that inning. Fayette would use that inning to fuel a comeback attempt where they would tally a run in the 5th and 6th innings. In the 7th inning the Nittany Lions would apply some pressure thanks to McKnight, Despot and D'andrea. However, fayette would fall just short 8-12 in the first game of the double header.

Central Penn pitcher Harvey McClain won the day with only two hits and zero runs in two and two-thirds innings, also getting three strikeouts. The bullpen would finish the game out for him.

Despite the loss, Fayette did tally 11 hits tieing with Central Penn. Fayette's Rendulic, D'Andrea, and Despot did tally multiple hits. 

In the second game of the double header Fayette would go down six runs. But the team as they always do didn't falter and tightened up their performance. In the 5th inning Josh Burns would record a triple and Braeden McKnight a single. Central Penn as they did in the first game remained consistent in scoring making things difficult for the Nittany Lions. In the 7th inning fayette would make its final dash with three runs. Shultz and Despot would bring in runners for Fayette in the 7th, but it wouldn't be enough. 

Central Penn's Lilja is the ace this game allowing one hit and five runs in three and two-thirds innings. The bullpen would once again relieve him successfully. 

Fayette would once again have success at the plate with 11 hits and multiple hits by Rendulic, Warrick, and McKnight. 

The Nittany Lions will be back in action Sunday, March 19 at Christendom where they look to flip the script.
