Fayette goes 1-3 in the series against Dubois

Lemont Furnace, PA- Penn State Fayette went 1-3 in the series against Penn State Dubois.

Penn State Fayette took the first game of the series on the road against Penn State Dubois, winning 11-7. Fayette put up a strong fight in the second game of the series, leading 11-9 going after finishing out the top of the sixth, but unfortunately Dubois came in strong pushing forward in the bottom of the sixth to win 13-11. It was finally Fayette's turn to host the third game of the series and it was a true fielding game with only 2 runs being scored by Dubois in the fourth inning. Fayette struggled to come alive in the last game of the series with a 16-3 final score.

Coach Ryan shared his thoughts on the overall series, "It was a huge win for our program to go up to Dubois and beat them. Auggie [AJ Segarra] shut them down and our bats came alive in the 7th plating 10 runs to put us ahead. Despot had a huge day at the plate and led us with some huge at bats. In game 2 we had a great start but couldn't hold on. Hats off to their reliever Olinger who held us scoreless and quieted our lineup. Was proud of how we played but disappointed we couldn't finish the day with 2 wins. On Monday Palmas was awesome for us but their guy Cherry held us down. We had a chance in the 4th w bases loaded and no one out but were unable to execute. Overall we played well all weekend against a tough conference opponent. It's disappointing we only took 1 but our team is showing improvement and will be tough team to beat the rest of the way."

Fayette is scheduled to play on the road Friday against Penn State New Kesington at 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. and then will close out series at home on Saturday for start times of 12:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M.
