Baseball splits with Schoolcraft

NERP, FL- Baseball splits with Schoolcraft on double header.

Baseball had a battle on their hands yesterday morning against the Schoolcraft Ocelots. The first game of the double header was a nail biter, with a start in the first inning of 1-1, thanks to Sawyer D'Andrea's single for Johnny Ioannu to score. The game turned to a battle of the fielders until the top of the 5th when Ioannu was able to bring in Remington Lessman and AJ Segarra making it a 3-1 ball game. Heading in to the bottom of the 7th Fayette couldn't hold on, losing 4-3 to finish off the game.

For the second game of the double header Fayette came out on fire with a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. Schoolcraft tried to creep in during the top of the 5th, but Fayette shut the door. Fayette finished the 7 inning game, 7-4. Leading for Fayette was first year player, Frank Macioce with 3 RBI's on the game. This nice win for baseball will close out the Russmatt Invitational for the team in Florida.

The team will return home to play Saturday for a 1 P.M. start against Bryant and Stratton Syracuse in a double header.
