BB goes 3-1 in NK series

Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette goes 3-1 in series against Penn State New Kensington. 

Fayette took the PSUAC West 4 seed by surprise Saturday afternoon in the first game of the series. Fayette came out strong with heavy bats, scoring 3 runs in the first inning. Fayette was able to finish the game with a win of 8-1. Leading for Fayette in the first game was Andrew Despot with 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 hit. Holding New Kensington to 1 run was first year pitcher, Remington Lessman.

The second game of the series brought New Kensington out with vengeance. New Kensington scored 8 runs by the top of the third, and despite Fayette's best efforts it was too hard to catch up to. New Kensington won the second game of the series 12-4. Leading for Fayette was Sawyer D'Andrea with 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI. 

The battle continued into the third game of the series on the road for Fayette. Fayette was able to hold onto the lead all the way until the bottom of the fifth inning, where New Kensington scored 4 runs. First year player, Ashton Ray was able to secure half the runs for Fayette, while Andrew Despot batted 2 of the runs in. Fayette lost the game 6-4, despite a hard fought battle.

The final game of the series got away from the young Fayette team. New Kensington's bats were hot, creating the final score to be a 12-2 win for the New Kensington team. Andrew Despot finished with 2 hits.
