Buffalo, NY- The Roaring Lions of Penn State Fayette traveled to Buffalo, New York to square off against #2 ranked Villa Maria this past Monday night. The two teams battled in a nonconference match-up where Fayette was never quite able to control the game as Villa Maria was dominant. At the half the score of the game had escalated to 47-30 in favor of Villa Maria, and the story of the second half was more of the same. Villa Maria was able to defeat the Roaring Lions by a final score of 108-82
The Roaring Lions were led by a combination of Marvin Sidon and Tavian Mozie, each with 17 points in the loss. Other highlights for the Roaring Lions included London Hoxie with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Atrayo Matthews with 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Villa Maria was led by a combination of Dominic Douglas and Dejaun Owens, each with 20 points. Other highlights for Villa Maria included Justin Strokes with 14 points and 1 rebound and Lonnie Taylor who compiled a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Men's basketball will be back in action January 31st as they host visiting Penn State Hazleton for a 6pm tipoff.
