Soccer Has First Ever Win

Soccer Has First Ever Win

For the second straight day, the Penn State Fayette men's and women's soccer team made history, and on Monday, the team won its first match in program history as it won at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, 1-0.

The lone goal was scored by Alec McLay (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands HS), who a day earlier scored the first goal in program history.  His goal Monday was unassisted, and it was the only goal Fayette would need.

Goalkeeper Jorge Palmas (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair HS) stopped both shots that Wilkes-Barre (0-3 overall, 0-3 PSUAC) put on goal to record the first shutout in Fayette history.  Fayette put seven shots on goal, with McLay's goal being the only goal the team needed.

Fayette returns to action Saturday when it hosts Penn State Scranton (0-4, 0-3).  Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
