Soccer falls to York, 5-0

The Penn State Fayette Men's and Women's Coed soccer team dropped a 5-0 Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) match to Penn State York Saturday.

York (3-4 overall, 2-4 PSUAC) put 25 shots on Fayette keeper Jorge Palmas (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair HS) and he made 11 saves.  Fayette (1-5, 1-5) was only able to get one shot on York keeper Colin Smith.

York got on the board at 13:33 into the match when Carlos Robles-Flores took a long pass from Smith and scored to give the guests a 1-0 lead.  The score would hold into halftime.

Cole Wentz scored all four goals in the second half for York.

Fayette returns to action Wednesday when it heads to Penn State Beaver (9-3, 5-1).  Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.

Beaver sits in the middle of a logjam atop of the PSUAC.  While in fourth place, Beaver is percentage points behind Penn State Brandywine (9-3-3, 5-0-1) for third, a half-game behind Penn State New Kensington (9-3, 6-1) for second and within striking distance of conference leading Penn State Lehigh Valley (7-3-1, 6-1-1).
