Pinduro sets two T&F records, Kalp adds another

Sunday was a successful day for the Penn State Fayette Track and Field team as three team records fell at the Penn State Behrand meet.

"It was good to get to a smaller meet," said coach Joe Carei. "We had a solid day with a bunch of top-10 finishes."

Josie Pinduro (Hopwood, PA/Geibel Catholic) set new records in the 1,500-meter with a time of 5:37 and in the 800-meter in 2:44 while Chloe Kalp set a new school standard of 21:19 in the 5,000-meter.  Pinduro's 1,500 time was good for seventh place while her 800 time was good for sixth.  Her time in the 1,500 broke Kalp's school record of 5:44, which she set last weekend.

"Josie got transposed with the girl behind her in the results," Carei said.

Haley Miller had a productive day as she took fifth in the 400 in a time of 1:22, took fourth in the shotput (6.55 meters) and threw a 19.85 in the javelin.  Casey Falcon (Beth-Center, PA/Beth-Center HS) took 14th in the 800 (3:00) and 13th in the 200 (0:33.9).

Mitch Minda (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward HS) took fifth in the 5,000 (17:08) while Alex Gostev finished eighth (18:36).  Andrew Ream ran the 100 in 0:15.6 and the 200 in 0:32.4.  PJ Savini (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) ran the 400 in 1:02 and was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 22.73 meters.  Drew Erdman (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem HS) took seventh in the 3,000-meter Steeple with a time of 12:24 while Steven Painter (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Mt. Pleasant HS) finished 12th in the 800 with a time of 2:25 and 13th in the 200 with a time of 0:29.4.  Tyler Zelenick (Centerville, PA/Beth-Center HS) had a busy day as he finished 13th in the shot put (8.93 meters), fourth in the javelin (36.04 meters) and 13th in the hammer (26.98 meters).
