Lady Roaring Lions Fall to Point Park

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. – Point Park shot a sizzling 60 percent from three point range in the first half to open a big lead en route to a 71-52 win over the Roaring Lions.

 

All-American Jill Guthrie (Uniontown, Pa.) led Fayette with 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Roaring Lions started flat after their emotional win over Penn State Beaver two nights before.

 

Second Team All-American Caitlin Wontroba (Uniontown, Pa.) was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points. Fellow Second Team All-American Kasey Ruble (Fairchance, Pa.) grabbed eight rebounds.

 

Emily Shartner led Point Park with 14 and Haley Sauer added 12 and April Austin 10.

 

Fayette drops to 3-4 on the season and 3-0 in the PSUAC. The Roaring Lions are off until the new year, hosting Rochester on Sunday, Jan. 6 at noon.
