VB swept at PS Greater Allegheny

McKeesport, PA - The Penn State Fayette Volleyball team went on the road for a key Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) West division matchup Wednesday, but it saw its two-match winning streak come to an end.

Greater Allegheny (6-5 overall, 2-1 PSUAC) swept Fayette (4-3, 2-1), 3-0.   Statistics were not available after the match.

"Our hearts didn't seem to be there tonight," said a disappointed Sam Swetz, the head Volleyball coach. "All you can do with a game like this is take a deep breath, learn from it and move on."

Greater Allegheny's win creates a three-way tie at the top of the PSUAC West division along with Penn State Mont Alto (6-2, 2-1).

Swetz pointed out the play of senior Kristina Aeschbacher (Carmichaels, PA/Carmichaels HS), the current United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Volleyball Player of the Week.

"Kristina played fantastic," she said. "She truly lived up to her USCAA Player of the Week for this game."

Fayette will look to get back into the win column Saturday when it hosts Penn State New Kensington (1-5, 0-3) in a PSUAC match.  First hit is at noon.
