Team Support Creates a Win for Fayette Volleyball

The Penn State Fayette Volleyball team got back into the win column Saturday with a 3-0 sweep against Penn State New Kensington (25-15, 25-18, 25-11) in a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) match.

"Our team had a great game," said head coach Sam Swetz. "The flow feels like it's finally back after that hard loss (at Penn State Greater Allegheny) on Wednesday.  I'm proud of the bounce back in our team.  The practice after Greater Allegheny, they picked each other up and moved on.  We have a very supportive team this year."

Noelle Hunter (Fredricktown, PA/Beth-Center HS) had 13 kills and four blocks, Kristina Aeschbacher (Carmichaels, PA/Carmichaels HS) stuffed the stat sheet as she had eight kills, seven digs, five blocks and four aces, Carissa Cyphert (Scottdale, PA/Southmoreland HS) finished with 12 digs and Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands HS) tallied 11 digs and four blocks.

Fayette (5-3 overall, 3-1 PSUAC) returns to conference play Monday when it hosts Penn State DuBois (5-3, 2-1) in an important match as Fayette is in second place, one game behind Penn State Greater Allegheny (8-5, 4-1) and one game up on DuBois.  Action starts at 7 p.m.
