Volleyball Falls to Carlow

The shorthanded Penn State Fayette Volleyball team dropped a three-set non conference match at Carlow University in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh Wednesday night.

Down several players, Fayette (5-5) fought hard but Carlow (7-5) won the three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-15.

Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands HS) had eight digs and seven kills while Meghan Goodnight (Wheeling, WV/The Lindsay School) finished with nine digs.

"This week has been a hard one," said head coach Sam Swetz. "I think the team is excited to be reunited and have a great conference home weekend (ahead)."

Fayette returns to Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) play this coming weekend as it has a doubleheader.  It hosts Penn State Shenango (1-6 overall, 1-3 PSUAC) Saturday and Penn State Mont Alto (7-4, 3-2) Sunday.  Saturday's contest will be Fayette's first of two matchups this season with Shenango as Fayette heads there to close the regular season on October 23.  Fayette swept Mont Alto on September 14, and the teams are tied for third place in the PSUAC West division.
