Fayette Crushes the Competition

NEW KENSINGTON— In the first of three important games, the Roaring Lions were set to take on Penn State New Kensington Wednesday night.  Fayette came out strong from the beginning and never looked back.  The Roaring Lions led at half time by a whopping score of 52 to 38.      

On Feb. 10 the Roaring Lions were led by the five starters each posting double digit points, scoring 86 of 110 points on the night. Brandon Cunningham and C.J. Gaddis were the Lions top scorers for the night with Cunningham leading the way with 22 points while Gaddis followed right behind with 21. Williams, Bristol and Perieff all finished with 11 points or more as well.      

Malik Petite was New Kensington best player on the night despite only playing 29 minutes from the bench.  Petite netted a team high 17 points on the night.           

The Roaring Lions had a huge lead at halftime with a score of 52 to 38.

Fayette edged New Kensington in field goals and 3 pointers making 44.8% of their field goals and 43.6% of their 3 pointers, while New Kensington struggled making only 32.9% of their field goals and only 21.7% of their field goals.

The Roaring Lions put a beating on New Kensington beating them by a score of 110 to 72. With another huge conference win this keeps the Lions in second place in the PSUAC with a record of 12-2 with two games left. 

Fayette will be on the road for another important conference matchup facing Penn State Worthington Scranton Friday, February 12 at 8pm.
