Fayette drops series to Du Bois

Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette drops series to Du Bois.

Du Bois was no easy task for the young Fayette team, being a top PSUAC and USCAA contender. Du Bois took complete advantage of being home for their first PSUAC game of the season with a 31-4 win in the first game of the series. Junior, Sawyer D'Andrea managed to achieve 3 RBIs, 2 hits, and 1 run for Fayette, despite the devestating loss. Heading into the second game of the series, Du Bois showed their experience by winning 8-2 as the final score. Johnny Ioannou and AJ Segarra managed to tie for hits with 2 a piece, while Sawyer D'Andrea and Aidan Schnurer tied for runs. 

Heading home, Fayette managed to hold Du Bois to only 5 runs, with first year pitcher Brandon Bieler achieving 4 strikeouts in his seven innings played. Fayette had batting trouble, having 9 players strike out throughout the game. Heading into the second game of the double header Fayette inched closer to Du Bois by leading 1-0 until the top of the sixth, where they scored 3 runs. Despite Fayette's best efforts Du Bois scored in the top of the 7th, winning 4-1. 

Fayette will continue at home with a USCAA matchup against Central Penn tomorrow for nine inning game at 4:00 P.M.
