Baseball splits with Beaver

Lemont Furnace, PA- Baseball splits with Penn State Beaver on home field.

Fayette started off in the lead against Beaver scoring 1 run in the bottom of the first. Beaver was able to score 7 runs between the third and sixth inning, making the score 7-1. Despite Fayette's best effort to come back by scoring 3 runs over the two innings, it wasn't enough, giving Beaver the win 8-4. Leading for Fayette was AJ Segarra with 2 RBIs, 2 runs and 1 hit. Remmington Lessman for Fayette was able to achieve 7 strikeouts in his 6 innings pitched.

Heading into the second game of the double header Beaver came out ahead, scoring 1 run in the top of the first. Fayette was able to score 2 runs in the third and fifth, making the score 4-1 leading into the sixth. First year pitcher, Ashton Ray was able to hold Beaver to 1 run for the rest of the game, with a final score of 4-2 in Fayette's favor. Leading for Fayette was Johnny Ioannou with 2 runs, 1 hit, and 1 RBI. Not far behind was Riley Henck with 2 runs and 1 hit. Ashton Ray was able to achieve 6 strikeouts over the 7 innings, securing a win.
