PSF Golf finishes 3rd at Mont Alto Invitational

Mont Alto, PA - The Penn State Fayette Golf team competed at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational with the action taking place at the Penn National Golf Course, and it had two teams in the competition.

The "A" team of Niklas Gibson (83), James Zakrzwski (87), Matt Morgan (89) and Dylan Pawlak (89) finished with a score of 348, which was good for third place behind the winner, Penn State Hazleton (329), and Penn State York (346).  The Fayette "B" team  of Chandler DeWitt (91), Nate Moody (93), Nicholas Sinal (98) and Dylan Bohna (152) finished with a score of 434.

New Golf coach Freddie Harrison spent his first day on the job Wednesday and he is excited to get working with the team.

"The guys played well and improved over four shots," he said. "All four of our counted scores were in the 80s.  We are pretty young with mostly freshmen and our upperclassmen are baseball players by heart.  We are in good shape as far as (number of) players.  I have told them what to work on, but I realize they have a lot going on with school, golf and their families.  We will do some practicing this week, get some range time in and some work on the greens."

Fayette returns to action on September 27 at the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Blue Course Invitational on the Penn State University main campus.  The invitational is being hosted by Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
