Fayette can’t match Thiel

November 29, 2010—Greenville, Pa.

The Roaring Lions men's basketball squad couldn't keep up with a fast-paced Thiel, falling 103-56 in a non-conference game. Thiel, a member of NCAA Division III, dominated Fayette, more than doubling the Roaring Lions in rebounds and made field goals.

Junior guard Josh Tomson continued his solid shooting for the Roaring Lions, making all four of Fayette's three-point field goals to lead the team with 14 points. Sophomore guard James Pratt scored 13 points, while gathering four assists and collecting a game-high four steals. Sophomore forward David Winns was held to a season-low six points, but led the Roaring Lions in rebounds with six, while senior guard Tim O'Bryant scored eight points.

Fayette struggled from the field, especially from beyond the arc, shooting 20 percent (4-20) from three-point range. Thiel held Fayette off of the offensive boards as well, collecting 33 defensive rebounds to Fayette's 12 offensive boards. The Tomcats had six players in double figures, led by Ladell Trotty with 16 and Kendall Delashment and Blair Rozenblad each contributing 15 points.

The Roaring Lions take to the road again on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. to take on Point Park. Point Park defeated the Roaring Lions 104-68 on Nov. 22.
