Roaring Lions fall to Saint Vincent

November 16, 2010—Latrobe, Pa.

The Roaring Lions men's basketball team dropped its second straight game to an NCAA opponent in as many days, falling to Division III member Saint Vincent College 83-53 in a physical contest, only a night after falling to Division II member California University of Pennsylvania.  For the second straight night, the Roaring Lions invaded enemy territory as each opponent opened up their season at home.

The Roaring Lions were led by sophomore forward David Winns, who grabbed a team-high nine rebounds while dropping 16 points on 8-of-16 shooting.  Sophomore guard James Pratt added 12 points and three steals for the Roaring Lions.  Sophomore forward Ian McCombs bounced back from a scoreless opener to contribute nine points while grabbing five rebounds, three on the offensive side.

Saint Vincent was led by freshman Isaac Turner, who scored 22 points and dished out seven assists.

The Roaring Lions open the season at home on Saturday, Nov. 20, against defending USCAA Division II National Champion Valor Christian College (formerly World Harvest Bible College) at 1:00 p.m. in the Community Center.
