Fayette Falls to Pioneers on the Road

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. - Penn State Fayette's men's basketball team played catch-up early on, and could not recover, falling to NAIA foe Point Park, 119-58 at CCAC South on Wednesday.

 

The Roaring Lions were led by senior Josh Tomson (Greensburg, Pa.) with 13 points, including 4-for-5 from behind the arc. Senior Anthony Howard (Uniontown, Pa.) added 10 points, including two three-pointers. Junior Ryan Hart (Pittsburgh, Pa.) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds to go along with his nine points.

 

Point Park pulled away early in the first half, taking a 54-21 advantage into halftime. The Pioneers went 45-for-82 (55 percent) from the field, including 12 three-pointers, while Fayette shot 33 percent (22-for-67). The Roaring Lions committed 22 turnovers, and only reached the foul line six times, connecting on five.

 

Fayette returns to action on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19, as they participate in the Allegheny College Tournament in Meadville, Pa. The Roaring Lions get an early season rematch with Point Park at 1:00 p.m. Friday. A win would pit the Roaring Lions against the winner of Allegheny and Pitt-Bradford at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, while a loss on Friday would earn Fayette a 1:00 p.m. start.
