No. 17 Fayette Falls to Penn State Wilkes-Barre, 84-69

LEHMAN, Pa. - The no. 17 Penn State Fayette men's basketball continued their struggles Saturday afternoon, falling 84-69 to Penn State Wilkes-Barre (9-11, 7-4 PSUAC) in a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference match-up on Saturday in the Athletics and Recreation Building.

 

Junior David Winns (Washington, DC) scored a game-high 30 points, including 11-for-18 shooting, but it wasn't enough to overcome Fayette's shooting woes. Junior James Pratt (Uniontown, Pa.) added 12 points and four assists for the Roaring Lions.

 

Despite committing only 13 turnovers, the Roaring Lions (7-10, 6-3 PSUAC) struggled from the field, shooting 35 percent, including 1-for-13 from three-point range in the first half. Wilkes-Barre made seven first half three-pointers, en route to a 43-33 lead at halftime.

 

Wilkes-Barre shot 48 percent on the afternoon, including 13-for-23 from behind the arc. Drew Walker led the Lions with 21 points while Keith Johnson scored 15 points and added five assists.

 

Fayette meets Penn State Greater Allegheny in a Western Division showdown at Greater Allegheny on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 8:00 p.m.
