MCKEESPORT, Pa. - Junior David Winns (Washington, DC) paced no. 17 Penn State Fayette with a game-high 31 points to lead the Roaring Lions (8-10, 7-3 PSUAC) to a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Western Division win over Penn State Greater Allegheny, 106-75 in men's basketball action Tuesday night. The win snaps a three-game skid for the Roaring Lions, as they sit in third place of the Western Division.

The Roaring Lions used a strong shooting effort to pull away from the Lions, as Fayette drained 11 three-point field goals on the night. Fayette shot 55 percent overall, including a 16-for-28 first half performance to take a 50-37 lead into halftime. Greater Allegheny (5-14, 3-10 PSUAC) shot 44 percent, but made only one of 10 three-point attempts.

Winns made 12 of his 15 shot attempts from the floor, and grabbed eight rebounds to go along with two blocks. Junior Ryan Hart (Pittsburgh, Pa.) came off the bench to add his sixth double-double of the season, grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with 11 points. Freshman Brandon Cunningham (Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.) and senior Joshua Tomson (Greensburg, Pa.) rounded out Fayette's double-figure scorers with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Fayette used 17 Greater Allegheny turnovers and a 47-36 rebounding edge to their advantage, and the Lions struggled from the free throw line, making only 14 of 34 attempts.

A quartet of Greater Allegheny players scored in double-figures, including Nick Dizon's 13 points and Patrick Malcolm's 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Roaring Lions return to the road on Groundhog Day, Thursday, Feb. 2 for an 8:00 p.m. tip at Penn State DuBois (13-6, 8-3 PSUAC). Fayette sits a half-game back of the Lions for second place in the PSUAC Western Division.
