After valiant second-half effort, Roaring Lions fall to Point Park

Pittsburgh, PA – Down 38 at one point in the second half, the Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions fought to the end, as the Lions lost to NAIA Point Park University 102-87 in a non-conference road game.

The first 5 minutes were back and forth, as Fayette kept things close taking an early 15-13 lead on a made basket by CJ Gaddis (Brownsville, PA) at the 14 minute mark.  The game remained close until the Pioneers ripped off a 31-16 run to end the first half.

Point Park continued to build on their lead until the 6 minute mark, at which point Fayette Coach Mark John called a time out to regroup his troops.  "Coach John and Coach Davis told us to keep fighting and to keep cutting the lead," said guard Darius Mack (Washington, D.C.).

Fayette Guards Gaddis, Luke Williams (Maui, Hawaii), and Dominick Jackson (Minneapolis, MN) combined for the last 19  points, scoring them all in the last 3:30 of the game.

Gaddis and Williams led the Lions in scoring, tallying 23 and 22 respectively.  Gaddis demonstrated his ability to find his teammates, as he dished out 8 assists on the evening.  Derek Jones (Brownsville, PA) and Jacob Bronder (Pittsburgh, PA) finished with 14 and 11 points respectively, while Bronder came close to his first double-double of the year grabbing 9 rebounds.
