Roaring Lions Drop Penn College 63-54

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Jacob Bronder (Jefferson Hills, Pa) registered yet another double-double and two other Roaring Lions scored in double figures as Fayette defeated Penn College 63-54 on Saturday.

Bronder led the Roaring Lions (5-8, 4-2) with 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. C.J. Gaddis (Brownsville, Pa.) scored 11, and dished out six assists to go with three steals. Luke Williams (Maui, Hawaii) added 10 with two steals.

Derek Jones (Brownsville, Pa.) added seven, grabbed four rebounds and had three steals. Dierre Jenkins (Uniontown, Pa.), Spencer Perieff (Lahaina, Hawaii) and Darius Mack (Washington, D.C) each scored six.

Fayette scored the first eight points of the game and a Bronder layup with 14 minutes to play in the half extended the lead to 10 and when Perieff buried a three a few minutes leader, the Roaring Lions led 21-8, and Mack closed out the half with layup that put the Roaring Lions up 41-23 at the break.

Penn (1-10, 1-3) chipped away in the second half and Laquinn Tompson's jumper with three minutes to play cut the Fayette lead to two. Jones buried a three and hit a pair of free throws to extend the lead back to six and from there the Roaring Lions closed it out for their first conference win of the new year.

Fayette returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 14 when the Roaring Lions host Point Park for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
