Roaring Lions defeat Greater Allegheny 94-72

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. – Fayette's Twin Towers of Matt McKenna (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Jacob Bronder (Jefferson Hills, Pa.) led the way as the Roaring Lions defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny 94-72 on Wednesday night at the Lion's Den.

McKenna notched his third double-double in a Roaring Lions uniform, scoring 30 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Bronder has 21 and six boards.

Spencer Perieff (Lahaina, Hawaii) scored nine and added eight boards. C.J. Gaddis (Brownsville, Pa.) notched eight assists as the Roaring Lions improved to 7-9 overall and 6-2 in PSUAC Play.

McKenna's reverse layup with 13:47 to play in the first half broke a 12-12 tie and ignited a 13-0 run that was closed by a Bronder three from the left baseline. Another 22-8 spurt broke the game open and Fayette went into the locker room with a 19-point lead.

The Roaring Lions then played Greater Allegheny even in the second half to come away with a key PSUAC Western Division contest.

Fayette returns to action on Friday when the Roaring Lions host Penn State Mont Alto at 8 p.m.
