Lions Roar Past Competition vs. Schuylkill

LEMONT FURNACE— Riding a four game win streak the Penn State Fayette men's Basketball team set to take on the Nittany Lions of Schuylkill.  The Roaring Lions won a high scoring contest with Penn State Schuylkill 114 to 108. 

On Jan. 30 the Fayette's bench stepped up big with three of Fayette's starters fouling out.  Brandon Cunningham netted 29 points to lead the Lions offensively.  Gaddis and Williams were second and third on the team with 27 points and 26 points.  Spencer Perieff led Fayette in rebounds tallying 6 for the night.  Gaddis had a huge game going a perfect 3 for 3 from 3 point line as well as going a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line.  London Hoxie put up impressive numbers from the bench posting 11 points and 5 rebounds. 

Benioko Harris an outstanding performance and season high of 45 points. Harris put up impressive numbers going 57.1%  (4-7) from the 3 point line, 70% (7-10) from the free throw line and netting 64% (16-25) of his field goals.  

The Roaring Lions led at half time by a score of 52 to 47.

Fayette edged Schuylkill in field goals, three pointers and free throws.  Fayette went an impressive 86.7% (13 for 15) from the free throw line. 57.9% (11 for 19) from the three point line as well as making 63.4% (45 for 71) of their field goals.   

The Roaring Lions would go on to win an exhilarating game 114 to 108.  With another huge conference win the Roaring Lions improved their record to 9-8 overall and 8-2 in the conference.  With this win the Roaring lions drastically increase their chances for a playoff berth.

Fayette will be on the road to face Penn State Mont Alto Sunday January 31 at 3pm.
