Another Heartbreaking Overtime Loss

Another Heartbreaking Overtime Loss

Penn State Fayette's Basketball team suffered another overtime loss on Tuesday when they traveled to Penn State Du Bois. The Lions knew they were facing an extremely good basketball team. Du Bois only had three losses in the conference. But with 53 seconds left in the second half, Du Bois tied the game and Fayette just came up short in OT.

The Roaring Lions came out of the gates slow. They were playing from behind for the most part of the first half, and Du Bois was pummeling Fayette in every stat category. But in the second half, Fayette fought with everything they had. The Lions had to play catch up for most of the second half; but with a minute and ten seconds left, Jordan Pratt's layup gave Fayette their first lead in the half. The Lions were on the brink of a comeback victory, but Du Bois wasn't going to go down that easily. And with 53 seconds left, Du Bois' Sam Roselli tied the game. This game was heading to overtime. The Lions took the lead early, but Du Bois had the last say. The Lions lost 95-92.

Although it was another heartbreaking overtime loss for the Lions, the starters had an impressive night. Four out of the five of them had double digit points. London Hoxie scored 21 points, 5-8 in 3 points attempts, and 8-13 in FGM; Dominick Jackson scored 16 points and was 4-5 in free throws made; and Spencer Perieff scored 19 points and was 9-5 in FGM.

The Lions will look to get back on track this weekend when they face two conference rivals. On Friday, Penn State Fayette will play Penn State York at 8pm. And on Saturday, Penn State Fayette will play Penn State Mont Alto at 4pm.
