Roaring Lions Wrap up Season

To finish off their season, the Penn State Fayette Men's Basketball Team took part in the USCAA Basketball National Championship. This tournament consisted of 34 USCAA teams from all over the country. The Roaring Lions first game of the week was against New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI), Concord's Community College. They were the champions in the Yankee Small College Conference. The Roaring Lions scored the first points of the game with a 3-pt jump-shot from Anthony Bristol. However, Concord soon took the lead, and the Lions had to play catchup. With less than three minutes left though, Fayette narrowed Concord's lead to 3. Nevertheless, Concord wasn't going to relinquish their lead that easily. And going into the half, the Lions were down by 13. Although Fayette was looking for a better second half, it just didn't happen for them. Concord widened their lead. And at one point, Fayette found themselves down by 23 points. Concord would eventually win the game 94-78.

Dominick Jackson led Fayette in scoring with 17 points. He also had 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Right behind Jackson in scoring, Spencer Perieff had 14 points. He also had 5 rebounds and 6 assists. And coming off the bench, Jordan Pratt had 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. For Concord, Raikwon Rodrigues led all scorers with 18 points. He also had 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Although they lost the match against Concord, Fayette would participate in a Consolation Game on Thursday. The match was against Andrews, who are from Cuthbert, Georgia. This was a tough game for Fayette. Andrews took a significant lead early, and Fayette could not narrow the gap. At one point in the game, Andrews had a 33 point lead over Fayette.  Andrews was too much for the Roaring Lions. The Lions would eventually would be defeated 80-55.

Dominick Jackson once again led Fayette in scoring with 16 points. He also had 3 rebounds and 1 assist. And coming off the bench, Jordan Pratt had 9 points and 7 rebounds. For Andrews, Kris Owen led all scorers with 25 points. He also had 10 rebounds.

The USCAA Basketball National Championship wraps up the Roaring Lions season. The Lions finishes the year with an 11-6 record, and they will look to rebound next season.
