Men's Basketball defeats Butler CC Pioneers

Lemont Furnace, PA – The Roaring Lions' men's basketball team were back on the road yesterday in another non-conference match-up. Fayette would travel to Butler, PA with the women's team to take on Butler County Community College. The men's game would take place after the women's game, which started at 5:00 PM against BCCC. The men's basketball team have lost the past two games. Both of those games have been on the road and have been played against non-conference teams. Fayette would look to end their losing streak and to get a much needed win on the road against Butler County Community College.

Fayette would defeat Butler County Community College, 91-82.

The men's team would have a slow start to begin the game as both teams traded points in the opening minutes. The Roaring Lions moved the ball well and played great defense in the first half with clutch shots made by London Hoxie, Marvin Sidon and John Bristol. Fayette worked hard in the first half and would score 32 points. In the second half, Fayette came out with dominance on the court. They would shut down Butler County Community College as they would attempt to score and would respond with points of their own. Fayette would score 59 points in the second half with all players contributing to the second victory of the season. Marvin Sidon would post 17 points on the night. London Hoxie would have another big game for Fayette with 21 points. John Bristol would lead all Roaring Lions with 22 points. Freshman, Iman Young, would be dominant and helped contribute to the win with 16 points. It was a solid team victory for Fayette as they defeat a non-conference team on the road for the second time this season.

The men's basketball team looks to continue their win streak as the first two conference games of the season approaches. The Roaring Lions will be on the road yet again and will be playing Penn State Worthington Scranton on Friday, December 1st at 8:00 PM. On Saturday, they will take on Penn State Wilkes Barre in Wilkes Barre at 3:00 PM. After this weekend, the first home game of the 2017-2018 will be played on Tuesday, December 5th against Penn State New Kensington.
