Roaring Lions fall to 9th in the PSUAC over weekend

Lemont Furnace, PA- Penn State Fayette was in action on Friday night in a PSUAC battle against a top tea, Penn State Brandywine.  The Roaring Lions put on an incredible fight against one of the conference's top teams and went blow for blow with Brandywine.  At the end of the first half the Roaring Lions were in a tie game with Brandywine, and once the second half had started and concluded Fayette and Brandywine were still in a gridlock at 61 points apiece. Overtime had started at the end of regulation where Brandywine was able to find their dagger as the overtime score was 13-9 in favor of Brandywine.  The final of the game was 74-70 in favor of Brandywine.

The Roaring Lions were led offensively by London Hoxie.  Hoxie finished the game with a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.  Other highlighted players from the Roaring Lions include Atrayo Matthews with 14 points and 6 assists, Iman Young with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Marvin Sidon with 8 points and 9 rebounds.

Penn State Brandywine was led offensively by Terrence Brown who scored a double-double with 22 points and had 13 rebounds.  Other highlighted players for Brandywine Donte Winfield with 13 points and 5 rebounds, Ameer Staggs with 10 points and 8 rebounds, and Isiah Cook with 10 points and 4 rebounds.

Penn State Fayette battled visiting Lehigh Valley on Saturday afternoon at the Fayette campus.  The two evenly matched teams battled each other in a PSUAC conference game where the victor ended up being Lehigh Valley.  The two teams worked with a 40-36 score at the half and by the end of the game Lehigh Valley had taken it by a score of 91-85.

The Roaring Lions were led by Tavian Mozie who had 29 points and 4 rebounds as a reserve.  Other highlights for the Roaring Lions included Atrayo Matthews with 18 points and 3 rebounds and Marvin Sidon with 16 points and 4 rebounds.

Penn State Lehigh Valley was led by Tarvis Gilbert who had 23 points and 6 rebounds as a reserve.  Other highlights for Lehigh Valley included Jeremiah Jenkins with 19 points and 4 rebounds, AJ Molettiere with 16 points and 5 rebounds, and James Middleton with 15 points and 4 rebounds.

Men's basketball will be back in action January 29th as they travel to Villa Maria for an 8pm tipoff.
