MBB splits weekend

Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette men's basketball splits weekend with PSUAC East play.

Men's basketball had a mixed emotion weekend at home taking on both PSU Hazleton and PSU Schuylkill. Fayette took over on Saturday against Hazleton, winning 72-43. However, on Sunday it was a tough loss to Schuylkill 90-77.

Over the weekend men's basketball had three players in double digits for scoring. Matt Forbes totaled his weekend out at 28 points, Dom Boring had 29 total points, and Torian Jenkins finished the weekend with 28 points and 25 rebounds. Carlton Canaday had his career high with 18 points on Sunday against Schuylkill, despite the loss.

Coach Hedrick had this to say about the weekend, "We played with a lot of energy and effort on Saturday. On Sunday was didn't have that same intensity. It was the debut of Jahmere Richardson and he played very well in his first two college games."

Coach Hedrick is referring to local student athlete Jahmere Richardson, who was a solid pick up for the team heading into the spring semester. Jahmere is from Uniontown High School, which did not go unnnoticed this past weekend as the local community poured into the gym to show their support for him. Jahmere had a good showing over his first two games with 17 total points. Jahmere ended his second collegiate basketball game with two big dunks to give the local community fans a rise.

Fayette men's basketball continues their home streak by taking on PSU Dubois tonight at home for an 8:00 P.M. start.
