New Kensington, PA- Big win for Fayette men's basketball in overtime last night against PSU New Kensington.
Men's basketball had a huge win over PSU New Kensington last night in an overtime thriller. Just when everyone thought the game was over Jahmere Richardson, a spring transfer, hit a long 3 pointer with less than 8 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Two final free throws by senior Dominic Boring closed the door, making the final score 79-75.
Coach Hedrick spoke about the exciting game, "It was a great win. We overcame an early injury to Mat Forbes. Jahmere Richardson hit an unbelievable long range 3 with .04 [second] left to put it into overtime and the momentum carried into the overtime."
Leading scorers were Jahmere Richardson with 19 points, shooting 9-14 in field goals made. Torian Jenkins also had a great game with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Xavier Boyd added 18 points to the scoreboard as well.
Fayette continues their showdown with the PSUAC West with a home game on Saturday against longtime rival, PSU Greater Allegheny at 3:00 P.M.
