Salem takes game one

HOPWOOD – Lise Couturier scattered two hits and drove in a run to lead Salem International University to a 13-0 win over Penn State Fayette in the first game of a doubleheader.

Salem pounded out 14 hits, including two homers and four doubles. Katie Mangold was 3-4 with 4 RBI and a homer, while Hayley Wilson had three hits, including a double and drove in three.  Shelby Howell also added a homer.

Kasey Ruble took the loss for the Lady Roaring Lions, giving up seven runs on six hits in two innings of play. Kaitlyn Novak tossed three innings and gave up six runs for Fayette.
