Fayette Looks to Avenge Losses to Beaver in DH Next Week

Monaca, PA – Penn State Fayette's softball team faced Penn State Beaver on the road on April 6th for a double-header. Shelby Dziak pitched the entire first game for Fayette leaving seven of Beaver's players on base throughout the game. It was a strong fourth inning defensively for the Lady Roaring Lions, allowing zero runs to finish out the game. Leading the team offensively were Miranda Nichols and Alyssa Strausser both hitting 1 for 2. The final score of the first game was 9-0 with Beaver coming out on top.

Starting off the second game of the double-header, the Lady Roaring Lions came out ready to battle. Leading off, Hannah Kline started off the game with an impressive hit scoring Fayette's first run. Knocking her in with an RBI was Miranda Nichols, also scoring a run herself thanks to a single by Alyssa Strausser. Together as a team, Fayette tallied up five hits and zero strikeouts.

The Lady Roaring Lions rotated in a few pitchers this game, starting off with Alyssa Strausser for the first few innings, allowing only five hits. Shelby Dziak also contributed on the mound throwing a strikeout while only giving up one hit. Finishing the game in five innings, the Fayette ladies fell 14-2 to Beaver.

Their games coming up on Saturday, April 9th against Penn State Worthington Scranton have been postponed due to impending weather. The Fayette softball team will be facing Penn State Beaver for another double-header, but on home turf this time. Games will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at 2pm and 4pm at Hutchinson Field.
