Roaring Lions finish Spring Training in Myrtle Beach

 

 

Myrtle Beach, SC- The Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions traveled to Myrtle Beach for this year's Spring Training.  They played a vast competition in schools such as, Danville Area Community College, a double header against Hagerstown Community College, College of Lake County, Kaskaskia College, William Peace University, and Mount Aloysius College.  The games did not go in the Roaring Lions favor where they were not able to bring any wins back home from Spring Training.

In the Roaring Lions first game in Myrtle Beach against Danville Area Community College they fell by a final score of 4-3.  Fayette's highlighted player was centerfielder Aubree Yates.  Yates compiled 1 hit, 1 run, and 2 RBI's in 3 at bats.

In the Roaring Lions second appearance of Spring Training they played a double header against Hagerstown Community College.  The Roaring Lions would lose both games by a final of 9-0 and 5-2.  Fayette's highlighted player in the first game was Hannah Kline at second base.  Kline was able to have 1 hit with 2 at bats.  Fayette's highlighted player in their second game of the double header was Chanel Porter at third base.  Porter had 1 hit, 1 run, and 1 RBI in 3 at bats.

Fayette would continue on Wednesday playing a game against College of Lake County where the Roaring Lions would fall 6-5.  The highlighted player for Fayette was Aubree Yates who was in centerfield.  Yates had 3 hits, 1 run, 2 RBI's, with 4 at bats.

Fayette would then move on to Kaskaskia College where they would be defeated 10-2.  Fayette's highlighted player was Hannah Kline who was at shortstop.  Kline had 1 run on 2 hits with 3 at bats.

William Peace University was next on Fayette's schedule in Myrtle Beach, but Fayette would again fall with a final score 13-0. 

Fayette would then go onto play Danville Area Community College once again, but the Roaring Lions would have the same result as they did in game one, they were defeated 6-0.  Fayette's highlighted player was Hannah Kline who was playing shortstop.  Kline had 1 hit in 3 at bats.

Fayette would play their final Spring Training game against Mount Aloysius College where they would fall 8-2.  Fayette's highlighted player was Aubree Yates who was playing in centerfield.  Yates had 1 run on 2 hits with 3 at bats.

Softball will be back in action on Saturday, March 17 against Waynesburg University for a double header at 1:00PM and 3:00PM.
