History is made; Fayette softball split doubleheader with PS-Beaver

Lemont Furnace, PA- History was made as the first pitch was released by Bentworth product, Casey Hite (sophomore), on a brand new softball field and what would be the first softball contest to be played on campus grounds. The Lady Roaring Lions braved the elements on Thursday afternoon to play a double header against Penn State Beaver - a match-up originally to be held at the Beaver campus.  Both of the two games were primarily lopsided towards the victor.  Penn State Fayette would put up a strong 6-1 win in the first of the two games; however Beaver would rally back in game two and defeat the Lady Roaring Lions by a final of 9-0

In game one several players had highlighted performances for the Roaring Lions.  Aubree Yates had 2 hits, 2 RBI's, and 1 run off of 4 at-bats.  Hannah Kline was able to bat .500 in the game with 2 hits after 4 at-bats.  Kaitlyn Wilson also had a strong contribution to the win with 1 hit and 1 run off of 3 at-bats.

In game two, though Beaver had more success, Fayette was still able to have some bright spots.  Hannah Kline had another strong showing compiling 1 hit off 2 at bats, along with Aubree Yates and Kelsey Holp also with 1 hit with 2 at-bats.

Penn State Fayette will be back in action this Friday, April 6th as Penn State Du Bois visits for a double header. First pitch for game one will be at 12PM followed by the second matchup slated for a 2PM start time.
