Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette softball team extended its winning streak to four games on Wednesday, March 27 with a sweep of PSU Greater Allegheny.
The hosts won the first game, 9-1, in five innings and the nightcap, 15-0 in four innings.
In the opener, Ally Hawkins (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown HS) looked best as she had three hits, including a double, and drove in a pair while Aubree Yates (Eighty Four, PA/Bentworth HS) went 2-for-4 and drove in three.
Fayette jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and that is all Tiffany Markovitch (Brownsville, PA/Brownsville HS) needed as she limited great Allegheny to one run on three hits.
In the second game, Fayette led 3-0 when it exploded for nine runs in the second.
Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) went 3-for-3 with two RBI's and three runs scored while Lauren Mastowski (Dawson, PA/Frazier HS) had two hits and four RBI's and Danielle Jones (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI's.
Hawkins struck out five to earn the win in the circle.
Fayette finished with eight hits in the second game.
