Softball splits DH with DuBois

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette softball team hosted Penn State DuBois in a PSUAC double header Wednesday and the teams split the games.

In the opener, DuBois shut out Fayette (7-11, 6-3), 4-0.

Lauren Mastowski (Dawson, PA/Frazier HS) looked best offensively for Fayette with two singles.

In the nightcap, Fayette spotted DuBois a 2-0 lead in the third before erupting for six runs with two outs en route to a 6-3 win.

In the inning, Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) drilled a double to left field to score Madison Knight (Clarksburg, WV/Robert C. Byrd HS) and get Fayette on the board.

Porter scored on a DuBois error and then Mastowski cleared the bases with a three-run triple.

One batter later, Mastowski scored on an Ally Hawkins (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown HS) single.

Porter finished with a single and a double while Hawkins (2-3) picked up the win in the circle and Tiffany Markovitch (Brownsville, PA/Brownsville HS) recorded her first save of the season.

Fayette is off until Monday when it heads to Penn State Beaver for a PSUAC game.
