Beaver throws a perfect game vs. Fayette SB

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette softball team concluded its 2021 season Monday as it was swept for the second time in four days by Penn State Beaver.  And for the second time in those four days, Fayette (3-21 overall, 3-17 PSUAC) was no-hit by a Beaver (16-8, 16-8) pitcher as Desiree Aponte threw a perfect game in the nightcap.

Both games ended up 9-0.

Aponte only struck out two batters in the second game, but her teammates played mistake-free defense behind her.  Cassadie Speed led Beaver offensively with three hits and four RBI while Morgan Lee, Aponte and Valentina Sandoval each added two hits apiece.

In the opener, Beaver jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first thanks on three hits and never looked back.  Half of Beaver's 10 hits were extra base hits.  Hope Hixon (Armagh, PA/United HS) led Fayette's six-hit attack with a double while the other five hits were singles.

Hixon went the distance in the circle for Fayette with all nine runs being earned.  She struck out two and walked four. Natalie Larkin went the distance for Beaver, striking out two and not allowing a walk.

Lee and Skylar Duffee looked best at the plate for Beaver with three hits apiece.

The majority of Fayette's roster has eligibility remaining and hopefully for the team, a full offseason will help the team.
