Fayette Comes Together in Second Game

Lemont Furnace, PA - Fayette splits doubleheader against Penn State Hazleton.

Fayette hung around in the first game but struggled to get anything going. After getting some contact on the ball in the bottom of the third inning, an offensive surge looked promising. Unfortunately, Fayette would drop the first game 10-1. However, like they've been doing all season, the Nittany Lions bounced back quickly in the second game. Fayette would tally seven runs in the first two innings and after a dry spell through the third, they would bring in five more runs to close out the fourth inning. The Nittany Lions won in a blowout fashion 12-1.

In the second game, Fayette had multiple players with multiple hits. A notable performance by freshman Olivia Logan who went 3-3 at the plate, had three runs and two RBIs. Cassidy Uphold also put on a clinic going 2-2 at the plate and bringing in two of her teammates. Madison Cyphert was the pitcher that won the day going five innings and only allowing one run off of four hits.

Fayette looks to keep its great batting up when Penn State Scranton comes to play Saturday. The games will be played at 12:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. We are also hosting our annual Youth Day, and kids will have the opportunity to go on the field with players for lineups and the national anthem!
