Strong showing for T&F at Bethany Invitational

Bethany, WV - The Penn State Fayette Track & Field team had a good showing at the Bethany (WV) College Invitational Saturday afternoon.

"We set 15 personal records," said head coach Joe Carei. "Our weight team continues to improve and coach Tim Morris is instrumental in this process."

Among the highlights were Aaron Mylan (Rices Landing, PA/Jefferson-Morgan HS) finishing fourth in the 10,000 meters, Anei Toaisi (Suva, Fiji, Uniontown HS) taking seventh in the shot put and the 4x400 relay team took seventh and Carei pointed out the effort of Michael Elliot (Clarksville, PA/Beth-Center HS)

"Mike's big anchor leg in the 4x400 propelled us to seventh place," Carei said. "That was his 10th place in hurdles and year personal record in the long jump is one of the reasons he is one of the team leaders.

"Looking at the 15 personal records, it shows that we are going in the right direction and while we still have a long way to go, we are on that way."

The next meet is Saturday, April 6 at Frostburg (MD) State University.
