Playing its second game in a matter of 19 hours, Penn State Fayette bounced back from a tough Friday night loss and posted their fifth conference win Saturday. Sophomore Kasey Ruble had 22 points and dished out seven assists to lead the Lady Roaring Lions to a 70-60 victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre in a PSUAC match-up. Fayette never trailed and enjoyed an 12-point advantage at halftime, and led by as many as 18 with just under six minutes to play. The win improves Fayette to 5-2 in the conference, and 5-11 overall.

Freshman Jill Guthrie scored 15 points on 7-for-13 shooting and pulled down seven rebounds, while junior Jennifer Thomas chipped in 10 points to round out the Lady Roaring Lions in double figures. Freshman Morgan Moluski had a career-high nine points on three three-point field goals, accounting for half of Fayette's points from behind the arc.

Fayette forced 21 turnovers, leading to 30 points including 14 on fast break lay-ups. The Lady Roaring Lions also took advantage of their size and depth, outscoring Wilkes-Barre 24-14 in the paint and 22-12 off the bench. Fayette also got to the free-throw line 22 times, making 14 (63.6 percent). Free throws proved to be the difference, as Wilkes-Barre struggled going 5-for-19 from the charity stripe.

Wilkes-Barre was led by Michele Vowler who scored 17 points, while Molly Dincher pulled down 13 rebounds to go along with 10 points.

The Lady Roaring Lions return to action when they travel to Penn State DuBois on Thursday, Feb. 3, for a 6:00 p.m. tip.
