Roaring Lions fall to Southern Virginia in Great Ships Classic

Newport News, Va. -- Southern Virginia used a major run in each half to cruise to a 109-58 win in the opening round of the Great Ships Classic hosted by the Apprentice School.

Fayette placed three players in double figures with sophomore Jill Guthrie (Uniontown, Pa.) leading the way with 17. Junior Kasey Ruble (Fairchance, Pa.) added 10 and dished out nine assists, while freshman Caitlyn Wontroba (Uniontown, Pa.) also recorded her first double digit scoring game with 10 points.

The Lady Knights had five players in double digits, led by Nicole Baker's 22.

The Roaring Lions return to action today when they face Apprecntice School. Gametime is 3:00 p.m.
