Lady Roaring Lions Fall to Point Park 74-57

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. – The Lady Roaring Lions put in a valiant effort but fell to Point Park University 74-57 on Monday at CCAC South.

Stephanie Longo (Chicago, Ill.) scored a career-high 12 points as Fayette bounced back from a miserable performance on Saturday to give a battle to one of the top NAIA women's teams in the area. Jill Guthrie (Uniontown, Pa.) added 12 go to along with eight rebounds while Kaitlyn Novak (Bobtown, Pa.) scored 11 and Caitlin Wontroba (Uniontown, Pa.) added eight and five rebounds.

Tara Neeley (Morgantown, W.Va.) pulled down six boards.

Trailing by 27 with slightly over 11 minutes to play, the Lady Roaring Lions held the Lady Pioneers to just two points over the next seven minutes, closing the gap to 12 on Wontroba's free throw at 4:30. That would be the closest Fayette would get.

Teresa Davis scored 21 points to lead Point Park and Ja'Nia McPhatter added 11 and Emily Schartner 10.

Fayette falls to 0-3 on the season and will open conference play on Nov. 30 when the Lady Roaring Lions travel to Penn State York.
