Lady Roaring Lions Bounce Back with 89-61 Win Over Dubois

DuBois, Pa. – The Lady Roaring Lions used a 21-0 run midway through the second half and then coasted to an 89-61 win over Dubois on Tuesday night in Dubois.

Stephanie Longo (Point Marion, Pa.) hit a short jumper in the lane to start the run, and by the time Kasey Ruble (Fairchance, Pa.) hit a free throw at 10:51 and by the time Caitlin Wontroba hit a three at 8:13 the Roaring Lions had a 22 point lead.

Ruble led all scorers with 22, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out eight assists.  Wontroba had 14 and five assists to go along with seven rebounds. Longo added 13 and five rebounds and Tara Neely (Morgantown, W.Va.) had 13 off the bench.

Carly Gruss pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds while Shannon Flament (Charleroi, Pa.) grabbed seven for the winners.

With the win, the Lady Roaring Lions improved to 7-7 on the season and 6-1 in PSUAC play, and first place in the Western Division.

Fayette returns to action on Jan. 25 when the Lady Roaring Lions host Penn State Hazleton. Tip-off is 6:00 p.m.
