Lady Roaring Lions Fall to Salem International

SALEM, W.Va. – Salem international opened the game with a 23-8 run and cruised to a 98-59 victory over Fayette (0-2, 0-0) at Salem on Saturday.

The Lady Roaring Lions had four players score in double figures, led by 15 from Courtney Haines (McClellandtown, Pa.).

Tara Neely (Morgantown, W.Va.), added 13 and Caitlin Wontroba (Uniontonwn, Pa.)11.

Freshman Kaitlin Miller (Bald Eagle) notched the first double-double of her career, scoring 10 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.  Neely grabbed nine rebounds and Shannon Flament (Charleroi, Pa.) five.

The tale of the game was shooting. For the game, the Lady Tigers shot 51 percent, compared to 24 percent for Fayette. The Lady Roaring Lions shot 18.8 percent from three point range.

The Lady Roaring Lions return to action on Nov. 19 when they take on Point Park University at CCAC-South in West Mifflin. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m.
