Lady Roaring Lions Split Weekend Road Trip

Lady Roaring Lions Split Weekend Road Trip

In a back-and-forth game with multiple lead changes, it was the Penn State Fayette Lady Roaring Lions who emerged victorious, earning them 5-1 mark in PSUAC play.  With two seconds left, Freshman guard Haley Moreland put up a floater that sailed through the net.  A subsequent in-bound pass by Penn State Schuylkill went errant, and Fayette held on for the 70-68 win.  The scoring was well-balance for the Lady Lions, as four Fayette ballers saw double figures.  Leading the way was Moreland and Sophomore Forward/Guard Courtney Haines with 14.  Sophomore guard Kelsey Laurine and Freshman guard Ally Rudolph both finished with 13, combining for 6-12 from behind the arc.

Junior forward Shannon Flament, going 4-9 from the field, posted 8 points and pulled down 3 boards.  Frontcourt mate Sophomore post player Kate Miller grabbed 16 rebounds in the win.

In game two of the weekend trip, Miller took advantage of her size under the hoop, as the Lady Lions took on undefeated in PSUAC play Penn State Brandywine.  Setting the school record, Miller snagged 23 rebounds and tallied 16 points, a performance worthy of PSUAC Player of the Week accolades.  The Lady Lions fell after allowing a second half lead to squander.  Miller held high scoring honors for Fayette, followed by Flament.  Flament, who posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds continued to shoot above 50% from the floor.

Moreland and Haines finished with 12 and 11 points respectively, and they combined for 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals.

Rudolph followed with 8 points and Laurine 6. Freshman forward Jackie Halapy grabbed 9 rebounds in the effort.
