Lady Roaring Lions brings home decisive win

MCKEESPORT— Penn State Fayette's Lady Lions salvaged part of Fayette's men's and women's doubleheader at Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday, Dec.5 wit a 75-58 win over the Greater Allegheny women.

    The Lady Lions used big edges in the first and fourth periods to offset a 43-28 advantage by Greater Allegheny in the middle quarters.

    Taylor Smith paced Fayette with 21 points, while Haley Moreland added 19 points and Courtney Haines scored 14 points. Shannon Flament added eight and Ally Rudolph five, but Kaitlyn Miller contributed a big eight points off the bench to help out.

   For Greater Allegheny (3-7, 0-1), Mandi Johnston scored 20 points and Tori Johnston added 10 for the host team's only double figure totals.

    Smith grabbed 13 rebounds and Miller added nine to lead Fayette (3-4, 2-0) on the boards.

    Fayette outshot Greater Allegheny 45.2 to 34.4 in percentage. The hosts made 12 of 19 free throws, while Fayette made the most of only 13 free throw attempts by sinking 7.
