Fayette Ladies Rallied to Overcome Lehigh Valley

LEMONT FURNACE, PA – A successful senior recognition night, the Lady Roaring Lions triumphed over third place, Penn State Lehigh Valley, with an 86-79 win. The Fayette women's team is sad to say goodbye to senior, Shannon Flament and junior, Kaitlyn Miller as she will be moving on from the Fayette campus. Lehigh Valley led the game on the board up until the fourth quarter when Penn State Fayette rallied coming from behind to win it.

Another season high game from the free throw line, the Fayette ladies made an impressive 18 baskets making 66.7%. Lehigh Valley was also successful with their foul shots shooting 61.1%.  Standing out on the opposing team was Andrea Watkins making 12 of her free throws and on the home side, Taylor Smith was unstoppable with her 11 successful shots out of 12 attempted, counting for over half of her 21 points.

Scoring her second highest game this season, Courtney Haines ran the court with 27 points helping to secure the victory. Assisting defensively, Lyndsey Huhn came up strong under the hoop rebounding 13 total times while Taylor Smith also added a huge 16. Lehigh Valley also had one player coming up big with 18 overall rebounds.

After that huge win for the Lady Roaring Lions, they are ready to roll over BCCC tonight at 5:00 pm away.
