Lady Roaring Lions Seek Revenge Against DuBois

DUBOIS, PA – The Penn State Fayette Lady Roaring Lions went on the road Tuesday, January 17th  to face Penn State DuBois for the first time this season after taking a tough loss at home when they last saw each other last year.

With a tied game in the first quarter, the Lady Roaring Lions had to kick it into gear as they didn't want this big game to slip away. Fayette was down by one at the half but that only gave them motivation to dig deeper. The Lady Roaring Lions' defense gave them the fire they needed to carry over on the offensive end. Junior, Haley Moreland opened up the half with 4 quick points, giving her a total of 10. Teammate, Taylor Smith started the second half off with a run of 7 points to give Fayette a lead over DuBois. Veteran Courtney Haines also gave Fayette 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in addition to Smith's 25 points and 19 rebounds of the night.  Fayette managed to keep the lead and bring home a win over DuBois, 69-59.

For DuBois, 6' 3" freshman Hope Bridge led the team with a high of 17 with fellow starter, Ashely Brown adding on 10 points. Coming off the bench shooting 83% from the free throw line, Grace Earle matched Brown scoring 10.

The Fayette Lady Roaring Lions look to add a pair of wins to their streak this weekend starting with Penn State York Friday, January 20th at 6 pm.
